At the ITU Smart Grid Laboratory, we focus on developing ideas and methods using advanced computational intelligence, systems & control theory, and signal processing techniques to facilitate a secure, reliable, and efficient operation of electric power systems in the smart grid environment.

Our research scope includes the secure, optimal operation and control of electric power systems ranging from small-scale low voltage distribution systems, microgrids, to large interconnected high voltage transmission systems.

The ITU Smart Grid Lab is directed by Prof. Dr. Istemihan Genc. Researchers and students from various disciplines, including electrical engineering, systems & control engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics, who want to collaborate with us and contribute to our ongoing research, are welcomed.
